I landed at 6am Iceland time. So obviously I was going to stay up all day and find a good place to eat. I met a girl from Iceland on the flight and she told me that the Lobsterhouse was a must. Given that she was a native from Iceland, you have to listen. (one of my rules: always listen to the locals). To view their website, please click here.
For some reason, I wasn’t very hungry, so I ordered 2 dishes:
Cauliflower soup – I love cauliflower soup and if there’s a cauliflower soup on the menu I will order it. This one was no exception. It is absolutely delicious. It had bacon crumbs with truffle cream. Very delicious.
Pork Belly with Lobster – another love of mine is the Pork Belly. So I didn’t realize that the lobster tails in Iceland are tiny, but the flavor of it is sweet and tender. The pork belly part was not as I expected, very little fat and very salty. Overall, this dish is good but I wish that I ordered something else that I am sure was a better dish.
The restaurant was very cute. It had paintings hanging on the ceiling, very unusual, but very good idea! The seating are super comfortable and will make you feel cozy and at home. Take a look at their website and their menu. I think this would be a great place to visit.
