The Little Book of Skin Care – by Charlotte Cho

So, since my trip to South Korea and Japan, I’ve changed all my beauty products to Asian Beauty products mainly from Korea and Japan. The reason being is that I am Asian and I believe Asians understand Asian skin the best.  I literally brought back 1 giant suit case (that I had to pay extra for because it is over weight) worth of Korean and Japanese beauty products and cosmetics.  See my blog piece on Asian Beauty Products for a glimpse of some of the products that I’ve brought back and my blog piece on Japanese Beauty Products  So at least you guys can see some of the products I’ve used and how well they have worked for me.

Once I returned and started loving all my Asian Beauty Products, I started researching online stores where I can buy them at a decent price.  Sokoglam.com was one of the sites and Amazon.com was another site that I thought had decent prices.  I go to sokoglam.com often and found out that the owner Charlotte Cho wrote a book on Korean Skin care, so I was very excited to read it and learn some tricks.  I waited for the book to be released then immediately bought it on amazon.com.

Book Review:

So going through this book, there are a lot of tips that I already knew and some tips are good to know. A lot of the skin care routines are similar meaning western and eastern beauty care routine are similar.  With that said, that could also be because I am more into my culture then Charlotte was at the time when she moved to Korea which is why the skin care routines she mentioned in the book are no surprise to me. I understand both western skin care and eastern skin care because I am part of both cultures and have used/learned both types of routines since I was very young.

This book is also more of a self and heritage discovery for Charlotte.  It is great to read about her discovery of her heritage, how Korean women take care of themselves and how she learned to fit in at work in Seoul. She also mentioned some great places to go for shopping, sight seeing and an explanation of each Beauty Brand they have.  I wish this book was out before I went there.  I would have better plans on what to buy and see.  Oh well, there’s always next time!
