I originally went to Takashi NYC for their Ramen as they were on my ramen tour list. However, I didn’t realize they only serve Ramen on Fridays and Saturdays at midnight. 👿 So really only people who can have their ramen would be people who live in the area and those who are out late and in the area. What about the rest of us minions? 😥 I’m gonna have to find a way to get there one day.
I am still glad that we went there because during normal times, they serve BBQ. This was an amazing experience and if you like food that is different but well done, this is the place to go. I highly recommend going there just to try their BBQ. You won’t regret this experience. We ordered the following:
- Ramen Quesadilla with beef tendons – OMG, I love beef tendons and they cooked it so well that the beef tendon is soft and chewy. I wanted ramen and I got ramen. This is such a creative way of making this dish. Who would think of making ramen into a quesadilla, then add Beef Tendons? NO WAY!!!
- Grandmom’s Steamed Beef Shank buns – Ok so most places will make pork bun, this place only serve beef, so a beef bun will do! This was also very good. They made it pulled style so it was shredded beef in a dark sauce slightly sweet and savory sauce. YUMMMMMM
- Steak with Garlic Butter sauce – Now this was a bit hard to do. The waitress explained but we still didn’t get it fully. That is because I just came off work so my brain is always a mush. It is really easy. They explained again. All you have to do is take the raw beef dip it in the garlic butter sauce a bit then cook it on the grill for 30 seconds each side, then put it back in the garlic butter sauce and let it marinate 15 seconds on each side. The outcome is WOW. LOL yes, must try.
- Home made ice cream – So its soft vanilla ice cream. It is sooooo creamy and soft. One of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. I added rice-flour dumpling (similar to mochi) and some black sesame and soybean flour with fresh strawberry and Salted Caramel sauce. This hit the spot. I couldn’t stop eating it.
Overall, this was an amazing experience and I would suggest for everyone to go and try their food. If you are an adventurous eater, this is an even better place to go to. I ate on the normal side, but like I said if you are an adventurous eater, this is an excellent place to experiment. This place is the epitome of creative cooking or rather artistic cooking. I hope you enjoy it there and if you have comments let me know below!!
