My friend Sondra Rapoport got us in for a pre grand opening tasting for her birthday courtesy of Chef Ashfer Biju and Pastry Chef Michael Mignano, who are my favorite Chefs in NYC!! It was an honor to have been allowed a glimpse of what this restaurant will be once it is fully opened. Perrine, I predict will be the new must go restaurant and the new place where all the bloggers (myself included), celebrities and newspapers will rant and rave about. With these two amazing Chefs, they will take Perrine along for a long successful ride. I can’t wait!
We were served a three course menu (see menu pic). Unfortunately, my pictures didn’t come out too well, but you will see the delicious food regardless and Perrine will definitely my go to restaurant so more pics to come in the future!! My 2 favorite of the night was the Local Farm raised spring Chicken with mushrooms and sauteed spinach, the Double Chocolate tart and the gluten-free birthday cake specially made for Sondra by Chef Michael Mignano. The chicken was moist and super flavorful, it was the best chicken I’ve ever had to this day. The double chocolate tart was rich and creamy, but add some of the salty caramel crunch ice cream that it came with made it a perfect combination. You have to make sure to put both in one bite and you’ll see. I love it!!! The dinner ended with a gluten-free chocolate cake. Now, you know anything gluten-free is hard to make. This cake was beyond delicious. Sondra and I both had the craving the next day. Damn you Chef Mignano, now you have to make us more!!!
The new restaurant Perrine is very nicely decorated with a contemporary feel. They have a full bar so it is also a nice place to hang out after work for a drink with colleagues or friends. The mood is mellow, but I doubt they care if you are having fun because we definitely had a lot of fun on Sondra’s birthday night. Make sure you look out for their grand opening so you can get yourself in for a good dinner!
